1 - AI on the Factory Floor Webinar
Webinar on January 27th.
As AI rapidly enters industrial platforms, teams are left asking an uncomfortable question: is Artificial Intelligence solving real problems, or just adding complexity?
This roundtable webinar takes a critical look at how AI is currently being marketed, how it’s actually being applied across manufacturing, energy, and IoT systems, and how the API landscape is evolving to support it.
This discussion will focus on practical design and architectural decisions that industrial teams can make to invest in AI with confidence - avoiding solutions that look impressive but fail in production.
As artificial intelligence rapidly enters industrial platforms, engineering and operations teams are facing a critical question: is AI genuinely solving real-world industrial problems, or simply introducing new layers of complexity? With AI increasingly positioned as a default feature rather than a carefully considered capability, many organizations are struggling to separate meaningful innovation from marketing-driven hype.
This roundtable webinar takes a grounded look at how AI is being promoted versus how it is actually deployed across manufacturing, energy, and industrial IoT environments. Join our panel of speakers as we dive into this complex problem.
This discussion explores how the supporting API and integration landscape is evolving, what architectural patterns are emerging, and where common implementation gaps continue to surface.
Focusing on practical design and decision-making, the panel will examine how industrial teams can invest in AI with confidence by prioritizing reliability, interoperability, and long-term maintainability. Attendees will gain insight into how to identify solutions that deliver measurable value in production environments, while avoiding systems that appear impressive in demos but break down under real operational demands.

2 - Nordic APIs Live Cast
API Standards for AI Agents
Learn why API technical standards drive agentic success. Join us for a LiveCast on API standards and AI agents, exploring how core API and open web standards enable accurate, reliable, and safe agent behavior.
AI agents are getting arms and legs with APIs. But they need a technical manifest to fully understand their capabilities. This is where core web and API standards shine, acting as rich semantics and metadata to both inform agents and optimize their context windows.
In this hour-long LiveCast, we’ll bring together API experts with experience pioneering standards for entire industries as well as individual enterprise-level API and API governance strategies. We’ll consider how to think about technical API standards (and how they can be combined) as you construct pathways to connect with AI agents and the benefits of a standards-based approach.
Our speakers will explore core technical standards that are helpful to position APIs for AI agents. These include OpenAPI, new OpenAPI add-ons like Arazzo and Overlays specifications, REST and link relations using hypermedia (HATEOAS), IETF standards, HTTP methods and headers, JSON-LD, MCP, and others.
The LiveCast will feature Kin Lane, the API Evangelist and Chief Community Officer (CCO) at Naftiko, and Lorna Mitchell, API Architect at TM Forum and Technical Steering Committee Member at OpenAPI Initiative (OAI). Bill Doerrfeld, tech journalist and Editor-in-Chief at Nordic APIs, will moderate the discussion and audience Q&A. The panel discussion will be recorded over Zoom and published to YouTube shortly after the event.
About Nordic APIs LiveCasts Nordic APIs LiveCasts are free to attend through Zoom registration. Attendees are welcome to ask questions in real time. We’ll post the recorded session to YouTube shortly after the event.

3 - Kubecon
Learned a lot at Kubecon about platforms and the CNCF.
We learned a lot at Kubecon. The talks were jammed with validation for our focus on capabilities, and knowledge around the CNCF.

4 - APIDays
Lauched Naftiko at the flagship event for APIDays in Paris.
APIDays was great. Definitely the place to launch Naftiko. The conversation were leaning heavy in the vendor direction, but still was a great time overall. The conversations were excellent, with lead generation being just OK. But, without a product yet, this is fine, as we were just looking to enter the market, and get the conversation going.
